The adventures of an occasional world traveler

Despite Diwali being the "festival of lights" there are also plenty of flowers around. Marigolds are especially auspicious and appear all over the place. By the way, the Indian currency is the Rupee (about $.02). A lakh is number meaning 100,000. A crore is 100 lakhs or 10 million. So in the context you see here 100 crores really means 100*10,000,000 Rupees. You do see this words applied to other things than money too (like population etc). I'm not sure just what this is advertising. It says "100 Crores of Prizes and Offers", and "Lucky Lakshmi, India's Jewellery Festival Participant". Lakshmi, by the way, is the goddess of wealth, wisdom, and fortune.
