Election Special

I think I had a title like that before. Last year there was a national election. This year (tomorrow, Sunday) there is a more local election (not sure if it is state or city). The interesting thing, as I may have mentioned in previous posts, is that they are not allowed to sell liquor within something like 2 days of the election. Yesterday night the bar in the hotel was closed and none available in the restaurant. Oddly enough just a few minutes ago they came by and cleaned out the minibar in my room. Just a while before someone had come by to take inventory (in order to charge). I had taken nothing. Then an hour later a few staff came buy apparently to fill it. I told them I had not taken anything. But on closer inspection, they were actually REMOVING beer from the fridge. I'm not sure if minibars have different rules or if they were just getting around to it.
I feel a bit out of it because I don't get a paper at this hotel like I always have in the past. I'm a bit embarassed not to know what the election is about. I'll ask my friends when I go out tonight.
